UPDATES

Jam

JAM, is something of a social experiment. Eight people are given a minute of fame. The same minute of fame. And only one person can speak at a time. And boy, do people HATE sharing their minute…

Once you do finally manage to start speaking, you can speak only so long as there is absolutely no deviation from coherent continuous (interesting) speech. And the first one to point out a flaw, will buzz you (with great panache) and grab the mic from you!

As if it isn't bad enough, we introduce another player into the fray… This player is called the JAM mod (among lot of other things), is around to make your life miserable, poke fun of you, give you your topics and moderate all objections.

So be utterly bamboozled as you die laughing (or crying) as the incredible speakers of the queen's english buzz it out, trying not to stutter, stammer, pause "unnaturally", make any grammatical errors or repeating anything… And fail miserably…

Rated R.

1. There are 8-10 JAMmers on stage at a time. For each topic they are given, the clock will start when a chosen speaker starts speaking.

2. Participants have to speak continuously, without repetition, without grammatical errors, without slurring, without stammering, (I'd be buzzed right about now, for  the repeated use of "without") without pausing, without digressing, without beating around the bush, and sustain all this for as long as possible.

3. Any participant can take the mic from the current speaker and earn extra points, by buzzing, and raising a valid objection. Points are docked for wrong interruptions.

4. Time is money: The longer you speak for, the more points you get. Each round lasts for one minute of cumulative time.

5. The Mod’s word is The Law.
