Tarang - Light Music Group

Are you musically inclined? Do you have friends who are too? Then collaborate and create psychedelic Indian numbers, to carve your niche at the stage that has never failed to deliver - "Tarang", Saarang's Indian music band competition.


Huge cash and other exciting prizes up for grabs. Also, the top bands will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to open for the Popular Night show at the Open Air Theatre (OAT) in front of a 8000-strong audience.

Rules:

1. Pre-registration is compulsory for participation.
2. Of the teams that register, the shortlisted teams will be invited to perform at Saarang. This year's event will have only one tier.
3. A band must consist of a minimum of 3 members performing each piece.
4. Each band will be allotted 12 + 3 minutes (empty stage to empty stage) for both performance and setup.
5. A standard right handed 5 piece drum kit, 3 microphones and amplifiers will be provided. All other instruments have to be brought by the bands themselves.
6. Substantial weightage will be given for the bands' own compositions. Similarly, credit will also be given to versatility in the genres of the songs performed.
7. Members of the band need to have a valid college ID card. Members of a particular band need not be from the same college. Also, participation in the event is restricted to COLLEGE STUDENTS WITH  A VALID ID CARD

8. The teams will be shortlisted on the basis of the video that they send in.

9. The shortlisted bands will be informed about their selection through e-mail on or before the first week of January.
