Updates :

  1. The competition will run on the 23nd and the 24rd of January, 2010.

  2. Notification regarding the free-go-round/theme based round will be put up by 9:00 A.M at the venue of the competition and also at the hospitality desk. The theme, if any, will also be notified.

  3. Photographs will be collected later during the day and the timings can be checked in the schedule

  4. The photographs, in either type of round (free go round or theme based round), should be related to Saarang, 2010.

  5. There will be three prizes given on each day.

 

Photography Workshop:

Wanna learn some new things about photography or make your photography better. Here is the chance for all the amateur as well as the expert photographers who are crazy about photography.
Photography Workshop is a short talk by Mr. Ranganathan (an experienced photographer) and his accomplice. The speaker will be sharing his experiences in the field of photography and will also be giving tips for good photography.
So, anyone interested in photography, attend this workshop and sharpen your  skills.

 

Photography Contest:

If you have a photographic memory that was never developed, then this one's for you. Just click away at anything you feel is profounf, beautiful or simply comical and submit it to us. The rest, as they say, will go down in history.
So, if you  think you are good at photography and want to prove it, just come to this event.

 

Event Format:

Each participant will have to submit one photograph based on the theme of the day, which will be disclosed the same day.The theme of a certain day will also be anounced online but on the same day.At the end of the day, all entries will be judged and the winner shall be announced the subsequent day.
On certain days, instead of a theme based competition, there may be a free go round in which the participants will be expected to submit a photograph based on any theme they choose and in order to effectively communicate their idea to the judge, the participants will be allowed to submit a one line caption describing the photograph.
There will be no pre-registration required for this event and the participants will be required to simply submit their photographs in order to participate.


Rules And Regulations:

1.    The theme (if any) shall be disclosed only on the competition day and not any day before.
2.    Each participant will be allowed to submit only one photograph. No multiple entries will be allowed.
3.    The photograph should be a digital one and should be transferrable to a computer.
4.    The participants will be expected to have their own means of transferring the photograph to a computer (by means of USB cables, bluetooth dongles).However we shall try and provide multimedia card readers and bluetooth dongles for this purpose but we shall not be responsible for any compatibility issues that may arise.
5.    The photograph may be taken with any device (mobile, digital camera etc).The photographs will not be judged by the standards of the devices with which they are taken. Hence contestants may as well use just a mobile integrated camera instead of high resolution digital camera.
6.    The participants will have to submit their photographs at the photography competition desk and get themselves registered. The participants should have their college ID cards along with them.
7.    Digital modification of the photograph (using Adobe Photoshop for example) shall be strictly not allowed.
8.    Any participant will not be allowed to see other competing entries.
9.    The decision of the judge shall be final and binding.
