Dance Events

‘Footloose and Fancy-free’ was an expression termed precisely keeping the Saarang Dance Events in mind. The mega-event in this category is easily the Choreo Nite, performed at the Open Air Theater amid intense competition. But the dancing does not end there. With the success of the Solo Dance and a revamped Classical dance which will cater to the purists as well as the populists, the Dance bandwagon at Saarang has just grown bigger. And the best part is, you don’t even have to know how to dance, most of the time. With the 3-day long Dance Workshops also being an integral part of Saarang, this is just the time for you to kick off those shoes and kick up the adrenalin. Bailamos?

Choreo Nite – 25 colleges, over 300 performers, 8000-strong audience, One Nite. The Saarang Choreo Nite is something you just can’t miss.

Freestyle Solo Dance – There are dances, and there are other dances. We’d like to see all forms. But only if you’re doing it by yourself, alone. The stage is all yours.

Classical Dance – The event which showcases the unique forms of classical dance from all over the country. Dancers come and dancers go, but the dance itself, remains.

Dance Workshops – Spread over all four days of Saarang, this is the chance for all of you with two left feet to try and come down to at least one-and-half left feet. So next time you play ‘Hips don’t Lie’ on your iPod, you can ensure your hips don’t lie still.
